It’s always better not to quit your job

When I asked a friend who had never picked up a girl before to help me talk to people in Shibuya for an interview, I was surprised at how good he was.

It was not the content of the conversation or the way he talked to her, but the way he created an atmosphere.

He speaks in a tone that makes it easy to exchange words, like a casual afternoon conversation between an elderly couple who have been together for 50 years.

That’s why he doesn’t make new acquaintances wary of him.

It was very natural and flat, and although I felt that people might think that he was too low-key, it was the perfect balance.

His experience in customer service at an apparel store probably helped, but I was still impressed and respectful at the same time.

More than any of my friends, I can say without a doubt that the atmosphere he instantly creates is soft, polite, and makes others feel at ease.

I was surprised, but not unexpected, to learn that he had quit his current job and made a fresh start in a new industry, the service industry.

“I’m a little nervous about deviating from the high road.”

I think that’s what my friend was saying.

It’s not the same as going to a good university, joining a good company, and living a good life, as people generally say.

Even quitting your job is not a high road.

But what is a ” high road” really?

I think I’m taking an uncommon path, but sometimes I wonder to whom it is uncommon.

In the first place, I think that in this day and age, not everyone is following the same path.

In fact, I feel that the main road of going to college, joining a company, getting married, and buying a house is a prehistoric and old-fashioned way of thinking nowadays.

But on the other hand, I feel that nowadays, starting a business, living as a freelancer, or changing jobs has become a kind of “high road”.

It’s a high road, or rather, a common way.

I was a little worried that the keywords “entrepreneur,” “freelance,” and “career change” were being used casually.

I felt that people were taking it lightly, as if working for the same company was of little value.

Of course, there are many people around me who use these keywords with proper consideration, but sometimes I see people using them as if they were buzzwords.

At least, to my eyes, they seem to be using the words lightly.

“What are you quitting your job for?”

Of course it’s better not to quit your job.

You know it right?

You quit today’s job now so that you won’t quit tomorrow’s job right away.
